31,144 watched outdoors hockey game

Timing is important. So, just in time for a regular season game between Frölunda Hockey and Färjestads BK in the Swedish Hockey league, I left Gothenburg and went home to Luleå. What I missed? Oh well, just an outdoors game on a football stadium. A mere 31,144 spectators. The biggest hockey game in the history of European sports. Nothing much.

Eventdagarna – a failure before it started

I am going to do something that I realise is pretty cocky – perhaps premature as well. The Event Days (Eventdagarna) in Gothenburg started about 1 hour and 45 minutes ago. And it is a whopping failure. I like the whole idea and of course there is a need for an expo where event managers, hotels, spas, entertainers and agents

Volunteers – the backbone of sports

As we commercialise sports more and more, we must not forget that the volunteers still are the spine of all sports. They are the coaches that develop our players, they are the parents that drive the players to practice and they are the functionaries that help us realise our events. In short, they are the glue that hold everything together.
